The HealthCard is a Visa Electron Debit Card, issued by Mercantile Bank Limited and can be used to purchase goods and services at any medical service provider who avails of a Point of Sale Terminal facility, i.e. (Credit Card Machine).


Funding the HealthCard


The HealthCard is a flexible and affordable way of making provision for unforeseen and certainly unbudgeted medical financial emergencies, even if you have a good Medical Scheme Plan in place.


The HealthCard can be funded any time and with any amount, through the following 3 Methods:

1. Monthly Debit Order
Authorise a monthly fixed amount by Direct Debit Order which can be set at a fixed date to suit your payment requirements. (Click here for Healthcard forms)
The date and amount can also be changed from month to month to suit your cash flow requirements.
The funds are deducted from your personal bank account on a certain date and transferred overnight to your HealthCard account without delay.

2. Electronic Bank Transfers or personal Stop Orders
Transfer whatever amount you choose electronically via Internet banking to your Healthcard using the following banking details:

  • Mercantile Credit Card Account
  • Mercantile Sandton – Branch Code 45-09-05
  • Current account no: 1006480447
N.B. Make sure you use the 16 digits on the front of the card as the reference to ensure the funds are correctly allocated.

3. Over-the-counter cash and cheque deposits
Cash or cheque deposits can be made at any ABSA branch countrywide by using the following banking details:

  • Resolution Health (Pty) Ltd
  • ABSA Parktown – Branch code 63-20-05
  • Current account no: 4055914523
N.B. Make sure you use the 16 digits on the front of the card as the reference to ensure the funds are correctly allocated.

Please Note:

  • Debit Orders must be implemented or changed in writing up to 3 working days before the required deduction date.
  • You are required to cancel your Debit Order in writing with HealthCard in order to avoid Debit Order return penalty fees.
