Dear HealthCard card holder,
Saving for routine and/or unforeseen medical expenses has never
been easier with HealthCard, and the existing and new features
of your HealthCard have ensured that it remains a valuable medical
savings tool.
These include:
- The introduction of a convenient credit facility that provides
for loans of between R1 000 and R10 000 for medical expenses,
at competitive interest rates. The funds are paid directly
into your HealthCard, and applications are subject to the Credit
Act.
- The introduction of a debit order facility makes provision
for your medical savings effortless, as the allocated amount
is automatically transferred from your personal account to
your HealthCard account. Debit orders can be arranged for amounts
of R50 and upwards.
- The HealthCard is a perfect savings facility into which
your Voila! rebate and Health Check rewards can be paid.
- The minimum balance has been increased from R10 to R50 in
order to encourage you to save for medical expenses
- The funds in your HealthCard can only be used for medical
services and you are therefore not tempted to spend the funds
elsewhere. These funds can be used to pay for unexpected medical
costs and services, as well as to provide for any medical cover
shortfalls.
- The annual mid-December payout window allows you to withdraw
accumulated funds (if not prohibited by a company policy or
subsidized by your employer) for personal use, thus making
it a medical savings account and a personal savings facility
all rolled into one. All applications for the 2007 payout window
must reach HealthCard by no later than 7 December 2007.
The HealthCard Team look forward to continuing to be your partner
in providing innovative banking solution for your medical expenses
and wish you a joyous festive season and a prosperous New Year.
