| Dear HealthCard card holder, The year has already gathered momentum and winter will soon be making an icy appearance. It is important now, more than ever, to make provision for those unexpected visits to your local pharmacy for those annual flu remedies. Therefore it is essential to always have a positive balance on your HealthCard, to ensure continuous use of the “can’t do without” medical savings facility. Please bear in mind, it is in your best interests to ensure that your monthly payments are honoured and paid into the HealthCard regularly, should you need to utilise the available funds. Therefore a negative balance can result in the rejection of your debit orders into your HealthCard, or the Card was never funded. You can however, settle the amount either by convenient EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer) or by making a bank deposit. Due to a recent system conversion, the internet balance and sms enquiry is currently not active. HealthCard holders are welcome to contact the HealthCard team on 0861 791 6425, fax to 0866 913 665 / 011 801 2082 or send an e-mail to info@healthcard.co.za to obtain their current HealthCard balance or bank details in order to settle a negative balance. Now is also the best time to significantly consider obtaining a secondary card for any member of the family over the age of 18 years old. There are numerous benefits of obtaining a secondary card, whether your child is away at university and if you or your spouse travel frequently on business around the country. The secondary HealthCard is linked to the primary account and you can apply by simply completing a secondary card application form. Please contact the HealthCard team directly for more information.
